Here are some images in preparation for the filming.

Making a jig to cast the resin for the magnet rotor and the coil stator.

Jig to place the magnets on the steel plate of the rotor - masonite cut on the laser cutter.


Acrylic jigs to wind the coils on.

Different gauges of copper wire for copper coils, wax to smooth casting surfaces, and a test pour of resin to determine consitancy and coloring.

Testing and fixing up our initial prototype.

Eyebeam, Prototyping, Revolution Door, Science Channel - Invention Nation — Fluxxlab on October 5, 2007 at 3:57 pm

We are being filmed for a spot on the new Science Channel show called “Green Science” (name may change) which is set to begin airing in November.

The filming will take place this weekend at Eyebeam. We will be unveiling our new full scale mock up of a revolving door, thanks to Will Kavesh at 3 Phase, and presenting a newly evolved prototype (if everything gets done - more pics to come) for the show.
