What is CBDA?

With CBD now seemingly everywhere, you may be wondering if the world is ready for another cannabinoid. Physical and digital shelves are flooded with foods, drinks, creams, and pills containing CBD. Producers are creating new and improved CBD products to cover an ever-increasing demand.  So, what is CBDa? And is it any better than CBD?

Cannabidiolic Acid (CBDA)

CBDa is the acidic precursor of CBD. When you squeeze a raw hemp flower, you get CBDa. In all fresh hemp flowers, the active compounds are found in acidic form, such as CBDA —or cannabidiolic acid, as its full name is.

Hemp growers carefully pick hemp flowers to process them and turn them into CBD or CBDa. Once the fresh flowers are picked, they are dried and processed through various extraction methods to obtain CBD. However, most extraction processes require heat.

When the raw flowers are heated, they go through a process called decarboxylation and CBDa turns into CBD

The only way to keep the CBDa intact is to either consume the flowers raw in juices or beverages—which makes for a rather bitter drink—or to extract it with a cryo-extraction process to keep its acidic form intact.

Here at FluxxLab™, we have developed a cryo-extraction process that preserves the cannabidiolic acid. We have introduced our CBDa into various products such as tinctures, vaping products, tablets, and nano-emulsions because we believe CBDa may increase your wellbeing.

At first, scientists and researchers failed to realize CBDa’’s potential. However, there is growing evidence that CBDa may be even more potent than CBD.

How does CBDA work?

CBD + CBDA Pills 3000mg Total 50 mg TabletsIn the 1990s, researchers discovered that our bodies possess an endocannabinoid system (ECS). This is responsible for maintaining the body’s homeostasis—or natural balance. When your cells need water, or you feel thirsty thanks to the ECS.

To work, the endocannabinoid system produces endogenous cannabinoids and releases them to the body. These resemble phytocannabinoids, like CBD. Researchers started looking into the relationship between the ECS and cannabinoids. CBD was found to interact with the ECS, possibly making our endocannabinoid system more efficient.

At first, scientists dismissed CBDa, as it doesn’t seem to interact with the endocannabinoid system. Recent research, however, suggests this is because it bypasses it and interacts directly with specific enzymes and neurotransmitter receptors. This makes it potentially more potent than CBD.

CBDA is more bioavailable than CBD

A particularly interesting and helpful feature of CBDa is that it is more bioavailable to the body than CBD.

Bioavailability refers to the amount that ultimately reaches the bloodstream. When we take CBD orally, our digestive system breaks it down before allowing it to reach the bloodstream. This means that an important percentage of the CBD we initially took—as much as 80%—is broken down before entering our bloodstream.

Why does bioavailability matter? A substance that is more bioavailable means that it is more effective and potent in smaller doses. Less of the substance is lost in the digestive tract or on the skin and more reaches the bloodstream. A smaller dose of CBDa could achieve better results than a larger dose of CBD.

Research and clinical trials indicate that CBDa is more bioavailable than CBD, making CBDa more easily and widely absorbed by the body. Studies like this one found that CBDa is between 18 and 100 times more bioavailable than CBD, depending on how they are consumed.

CBDA is non-addictive and non-psychoactive

THC is the psychoactive compound of cannabis. That is why CBD and CBDa are legal as long as they contain under 0.3% of THC.

FluxxLab™ CBDa has no THC. So, it is non-psychoactive and non-addictive. It is therefore safe to use, even on a long-term basis.

What Are the Benefits of CBDA?

CBDa is the parent compound of CBD. It is found in raw hemp flowers when they are picked from the hemp plant.

CBDa is very fragile because it transforms into CBD when it is heated and loses its acidic qualities. Here at FluxxLab we have invested in a high-tech cryo-extraction process which processes CBDa without heating, thus keeping it intact.

CBDa is more bioavailable than CBD, which makes it faster-acting in smaller doses compared to CBD.

All of us here at FluxxLab™ are looking into offering the best possible CBDa products to elevate your quality of life!

Purchasing CBDA Products

Now that we’ve covered all of the “good stuff” when it comes to CBDA knowledge, it’s time to unveil the best place to buy CBDA products, and which of those products we recommend the most.

CBDA oil is one of the best ways to consume CBDA. The reason for this is that CBDA oil contains a very high concentration of the cannabinoid compound. If you’re looking for the best CBDA oil product on the market, our online store at FluxxLab is the place to be. Our CBDA tincture comes in two varieties: 500mg and 1000mg. This tincture product is THC free and therefore is fully compliant with the 2018 Farm Bill. This means that the product is 100% federally compliant and legal.

One of the great parts about buying CBDA at FluxxLab is that we control the entire creation process behind our products. This includes research and development, extraction, manufacturing, and direct to consumer sales. Our CBDA oil product is also grown from 100% Colorado hemp, so you can rest assured that you’re getting the best quality available on the market.

Other Products that Pair Well

If you’re looking for something a little bit stronger than CBDA, we highly recommend checking out our delta 8 pills. These tablets are packed with Delta 8 THC, which is psychoactive but contains no THC. Each delta 8 capsule comes with 33mg of Delta 8 THC, for a total of 1000mg per bottle.

Pairing the psychoactive components of delta 8 with the relaxing and rejuvenating properties of CBDA can be a highly effective combo.
